Cablevision Customers to Enjoy NBC Universal’s Comprehensive Coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games
Bethpage, NY (PRWEB) February 11, 2010 -- Cablevision and NBC Universal today announced a multiplatform content offering for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games to commence with the Opening Ceremony on Friday, February. 12. Cablevision customers will have access to all of NBC Universal’s more than 835 hours of unprecedented Olympics programming, representing the most total hours ever and the most live hours ever for an Olympic Winter Games. Cablevision will showcase advanced technology across multiple digital platforms, including Standard Definition and High Definition (HD) Networks, VOD, iTV and broadband to deliver NBC’s Olympic coverage. Vancouver will be the first Winter Olympics available entirely in high definition.

Cablevision digital cable customers with a set-top box will have access to a dedicated one-stop iTV and mosaic channel that provides viewers with a window to all of NBC Networks’ television coverage and on-demand content, 24/7, with the ability to easily navigate to specific channels and back to the comprehensive multi-channel view. Using their remote control, customers also can search for, select and watch videos and features including real time Olympics news, medal count, features, photo albums, schedules and other content. The NBC Olympics interactive channel will be available from February 12-28 on Channel 674.
Customers can stay connected to the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games wherever they go, and can expect extensive coverage on the networks of NBC Universal, including NBC, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Universal HD and NBCOlympics.com. · In Games: NBCU will offer more than 100 highlight clips, approximately 15 per day, in addition to up to five full-length daily event replays.
Online: Through Optimum’s Online’s popular web portal, Optimum.net, Optimum Online customers have access to real time Olympics news, medal counts, programming schedules, and more. Optimum.net will also link to NBC’s online Olympics content at NBCOlympics.com, which includes their high-definition video player and more than 1,000 hours of video. Optimum Online customers who subscribe to a Family Cable package or above and visit NBC’s Olympic website via their Optimum Online modem will not be required to sign-in to access the content, this authentication will be automatic. Family Cable customers with MSNBC or CNBC in their video package that also have a valid Optimum ID and password can access their subscription level of video and watch streaming videos on the NBC Olympic website. Out-of-the home, customers that wish to access the NBC Olympic web site will be required to login once per device using their Optimum ID and password.
Mobile: Optimum Online customers using any mobile device with browsing capabilities can visit the mobile version of Optimum.net to link directly to NBC’s Olympics mobile site.
Additionally, customers can use Optimum WiFi to access NBC Olympics broadband.
